SDM Magazine – Find Your RMR in the Access Cloud

By Feenics Blog No Comments

SDM published a great article on the benefits of cloud services and how you can get involved today.

Here’s what they said about Keep by Feenics,

Cloud-based Security Management Solution

Keep by Feenics is a security management solution designed to work in a LAN or hosted cloud-based environment. The system consists of Feenics licensed hardware manufactured by HID and Mercury, and is based on Microsoft’s .Net architecture. “Customers are starting to ask for cloud hosted/SaaS products because they deliver value and they don’t want to find themselves stuck on legacy platforms anymore,” says Brian Matthews, director of sales, Feenics, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. “Feenics was founded by an integrator because his customers were asking for cloud-based products. Whether or not we realized it, we’ve been using cloud-based products for almost a decade and security is finally starting to accept that “cloud” is here to stay.

Feenics and PSA Security Network Announce Vendor Partnership

By Feenics Blog No Comments

From www.psasecurity.com:

WESTMINSTER, CO., June 4, 2015 —PSA Security Network, the world’s largest electronic security cooperative, today announced a new vendor partnership with Feenics, Inc. Feenics offers cloud-based access control solutions including their flagship product Keep, a fully cloud-enabled solution for the configuration, commanding and real time monitoring of physical access control installations.

“Feenics had established a good working relationship with several PSA member companies who were early adopters of cloud based technology”.  Says Brian Matthews, director of sales at Feenics Inc.  “We are very excited to extend this partnership in the PSA organization.  It’s great to work with companies who not only understand the value that cloud and SaaS deliver to their organizations, but more importantly to the customers that we serve collectively”.

Keep by Feenics does not require a dedicated, on-site server lowering the overall total cost of ownership.  At the same time, Keep is a great model for integrators to earn additional streams of recurring monthly revenue through hosted and managed services.  In addition, Keep uses proven and open field hardware from Mercury, and HID’s VertX and Edge.

“PSA is excited to begin our new partnership with Feenics,” said Craig Patterson, director of vendor management for PSA Security Network. “Several of our integrators saw the potential early on with Feenics and we are proud to have their cloud-based access control solutions as part of the PSA line card.”

Keep by Feenics Wins SSI Award

By Feenics Blog No Comments

We are very excited to announce that Feenics won the MVP Award from Security Sales & Integration for Access Control Management Programs and Software this year at ISC West.

The awards are judged by a panel of security integrators and editors of SSI.  The purpose of the MVP Awards is to “recognize products that make a substantial impact on integrators” (SSI MVP 2015).

Products, like Keep, were judged based not only on their technical integrity, but also the products ability to help integrators gain access to a new customer base, while offering something that is more efficient and scalable.  Thus being more profitable for the Integrator and a cost effective solution for the End User.

The judging criteria included: Innovation, Functionality, Competitive Advantages, Benefits to the Installer or Monitoring Provider, and Benefits to the End User.

Keep by Feenics was alongside some of the industry’s giants who also gained recognition from the SSI Awards, which included Assa Abloy Group, Honeywell Security, and Panasonic.

Attention Chrome Users!

By Feenics Blog No Comments

Attention Keepers!  For those of you who are partial to Chrome, please be advised of the recent changes.

Chrome is an ‘evergreen’ product in that it downloads and installs its updates behind the scenes.

The most recent version of Chrome, 42, was pushed yesterday and by default it disables the NPAPI plugin which Silverlight requires.

To enable this plugin, open chrome and enter ‘chrome://flags/’. You should  find a disabled item titled NPAPI. Enabling this will ensure that everything is functioning normally.  Click the nifty little image on the right for more details.
